AI Management Systems by ISO/IEC

ISO/IEC 42001

The first international standard for managing AI responsibly, end to end.

01 What is it?

ISO/IEC 42001 is the first international standard for AI Management Systems. It defines the requirements and controls an organisation needs to govern its AI lifecycle responsibly, similar in spirit to ISO 27001 but specific to AI. It is rapidly becoming the de-facto signal that an organisation manages AI risk seriously.

02 Why implement it?

  • First and only international AI management-system standard
  • Strong signal for customers, partners, regulators and investors
  • Maps cleanly to NIST AI RMF and EU AI Act expectations
  • Strengthens internal AI governance, lifecycle and risk practices
  • Audit-ready, certifiable by accredited bodies

03 How I help

I help organisations design and implement an AI Management System aligned to ISO 42001: gap analysis, policy and control framework, risk register, AI inventory, lifecycle controls and the readiness pack for certification audit.

04 Expected deliverables

  • Gap analysis against ISO/IEC 42001
  • AI Management System policy and control framework
  • AI inventory and risk register
  • Lifecycle controls and evidence pack
  • Certification-readiness assessment
